Budapest boasts three main international railway stations — Keleti, Nyugati, and Déli — providing excellent rail connections to major European cities such as Vienna and Bratislava. Trains to these destinations depart approximately every three hours, offering a convenient travel option.
Several international bus companies (e.g. FlixBus) operate routes to Budapest from various European cities, making it an affordable and efficient choice for travelers.
Budapest is accessible via a network of European highways, allowing for straightforward travel by car from neighboring countries.

Travelers arriving at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) have several options to reach the city center:
Bus 100E – Airport Express: This direct service connects the airport to central Budapest, stopping at key locations such as Kálvin tér, Astoria, and Deák Ferenc tér. Buses depart every 6-10 minutes during the day and every 30-40 minutes at night. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes, depending on traffic. A special ticket is required for this service, costing 2,200 HUF (approximately €5.50), which passengers can purchase using contactless payment methods on board.
Bus 200E + Metro Line M3: Bus 200E runs from the airport to Kőbánya-Kispest metro station. From there, passengers can transfer to Metro Line M3 (blue line) to reach the city center.
miniBUD: The official airport shuttle service offers shared rides directly to your accommodation. This option balances cost and convenience, especially for those traveling with luggage or seeking door-to-door service.
Taxis, Uber, and Bolt: Official airport taxis, Uber, and Bolt operate with fixed fares, providing a reliable transfer to the city center. The fare is typically around 10,000-14,000 HUF (approximately €25-35) for a 30-minute ride under normal traffic conditions.
